Sent ikväll kom vi tillbaka till rummet på McDonalds-huset. Jag har inte sovit så mycket på ett par nätter. Denna natten på sjukhuset tillbringade jag vaken med en mestadels sovande Edith och nån tysk serie på hennes Ipad. Jag hade också sällskap av den smygande, men mysiga nattsjuksköterskan. Hon kom in allt som oftast för att rätta till syremätare, EKG och dropp, samt för att göra kontroller av Ediths vitalparametrar och pappas psykiska status. Hade det inte varit tobaksförbud kanske jag tagit en snus också.
Vi fick ihop anfallen som behövdes till slut, något på natten, ett par på morgonen. Varje anfallsregistrering granskades löpande. Så när dr Bollo stämde av med sitt team på morgonen bestämde de sig för att avsluta registreringen – vi hade tillräckligt. Elektroderna opererades bort under narkos på lunchen, följt av en datortomografi för att utesluta blödningar.
Nu tänker vi ta helg, eller i alla fall söndagsledigt. Innan Bollo på måndag förmiddag återkopplar teamets slutsatser och rekommendationer och diskuterar nästa steg med oss. Steget i sig tas sen på tisdag, det kommer att innebära någon form av operation.
Vi behöver också använda söndagen till att hitta en lösning för att kunna streama Spanien-Sverige på något vis.

DAY 12 in SLC – a whispering night nurse
Tonight, we returned to the room at the McDonalds house. I’m pretty tired, probably the rest of the family too. Last night in the hospital I spent awake with a mostly sleeping Edith and some German series on her Ipad. I was also accompanied by the whispering but very sweet night nurse. She came in every now and then to tend to the IV, ECG- and saturation cords and to check of Edith’s vitals and dad’s mental status.
We got the seizures that were needed in the end. One or two in the night, a couple in the morning. Each seizure registration was reviewed on an ongoing basis. So when Dr. Bollo discussed with his team in the morning, they decided to end the registration – we had enough. The electrodes were removed under anesthesia at lunch, followed by a CT scan to rule out bleeding.
Now we plan to take the weekend, or at least Sunday off. Before Dr. Bollo calls us on Monday morning, to discuss his and the team’s recommendations for the next step. On Tuesday, the next step will be taken, it will involve some form of surgery.
We also need to use Sunday to find a solution to be able to stream Spain-Sweden in the European Championship (soccer).
*This one was waiting for Edith in the room when we got back today, a gift from RMHC. He has already been given a name: Mr Bollo.
**Another step completed. Today, these two and fourteen more were surgically removed from Edith´s brain – they have now served their purpose.
